The impacts and downside of the ocean floor is underwater mountain and trenches, but also things such as earthquakes and tsunamis; affecting us as human beings. A tsunami can be triggered if an earthquake results in the uplift of the sea floor. The water on sea level suddenly rises or sinks; depending on the situation.
When oceanic crust meets continental crust, rocks are compressed and thickened, resulting in un wanted mountain-building. Them the large oceanic plate sinks beneath the lighter continental plate, forming an ocean trench. This will then create volcanic activity, because the crust will slowly descend into the mantle. Another example is: A tsunami can be triggered if an earthquake ends in the uplift of the sea bed. The water on sea level will suddenly rise or sink; depending on the situation.
