The outer core is found before the inner core. The outer core is 4828 km in depth and is liquid inside. It is thought to be produced of highly heated molten lava, whilst the lava being primarily iron and nickel.
At the top, iron crystals freeze and are transported into the solid based inner core. These freezing pattern lead to movement of the whole outer core at a speed of 20 km's every year.
